Ioana is a multilingual and passionate language teacher with a native proficiency in Romanian, fluency in French, Spanish and intermediate levels in Italian, Japanese, and Turkish. Ioana, pronounced Ee-wa-na, has a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies with Modern Languages from University of Essex, UK, as well as a MA Degree in Translation from UCL. Ioana also pursued a Psychology degree from University of Bucharest in Romania, which was very useful when studying for her teaching degree back in London at St. Mary’s University. Her love for languages extends beyond the classroom, and she is currently exploring the intricacies of Arabic. In her teaching, Ioana combines her extensive knowledge of various exam boards with innovative techniques to create an engaging and effective learning environment.
In the classroom, Ioana is dedicated to helping her students develop a love of language and culture, while also honing their language skills. Her passion for the subjects she teaches is infectious, and she is committed to helping her students achieve their full potential in French and Spanish.
Outside of the classroom, Ioana is a creative and active individual with a range of interests. She enjoys exploring the arts through painting, drawing, and crafting, and is also an avid boulderer and yogi. Her love of literature and poetry often finds its way into her teaching, helping her students develop a deeper understanding of the subjects.
