Melissa Van Niekerk is an experienced and passionate educator from Cape Town, South Africa. She graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a degree in History and Psychology, disciplines that continue to inspire her dynamic teaching approach. Melissa has been teaching History and Psychology in the United Arab Emirates for the past 11 years, working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Melissa adopts a holistic approach to education, believing that effective teaching goes beyond academic content. She strives to nurture the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of every student, helping them develop confidence, empathy, and a genuine love of learning.
Outside of the classroom, Melissa is a dedicated wife and mother to two young boys. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, hiking, reading, and traveling to new destinations. These experiences not only enrich her personal life but also informs her teaching, allowing her to bring real-world relevance and global perspectives into her lessons.
