Bloom World Academy’s Head Girl, Inaya Zaidi Joins Dubai Students Council

Bloom World Academy is thrilled to share some exciting news: our Head Girl and Grade 10 student, Inaya Zaidi, has been appointed to the Dubai Students Council, part of KHDA’s Leaders of Tomorrow – Game Changers initiative under the Education 33 Strategy. Out of more than 90 private schools across Dubai, only 15 students were selected to join this inaugural council, making Inaya’s achievement a huge moment of pride for our school community.

In a congratulatory message to the new council members, Sheikh Hamdan said: “This is an exciting achievement and a great opportunity, and a symbol of responsibility, commitment, and service to your community and fellow students. As a member of the Council, you are now the voice of students in Dubai. You will carry their ambitions, express their ideas, and contribute to developing our education system. Your responsibility is significant, but our expectations are even greater.

“In appreciation of your efforts, I gift you a copy of the book ‘Lessons from Life’ by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It captures the values that inspire, guide, and ignite the passion to achieve and make a difference. Continue to exemplify the qualities that define our nation’s youth: minds that innovate, hearts that persevere, and a deep-rooted pride in the values that unite and inspire us.”

The Dubai Students Council is all about giving students a real voice in shaping the future of education in the emirate. It’s a platform where young people can share ideas, influence policy, and collaborate directly with government authorities to make meaningful change. Inaya’s selection reflects her leadership, academic excellence, and deep commitment to community impact.

Nicola Upham, our Principal of Wellbeing and Development, said: “Inaya is an exceptional young leader whose maturity, initiative and passion for positive change make her an ideal candidate for the Dubai Students Council. She’s passionate about raising awareness and motivating her peers to be global citizens.”

Inaya’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. She founded WeGrow, a sustainability initiative that encourages gardening as a way to support mental wellbeing. She’s spoken at COP28, won second place in a national sustainability story competition, and received awards like the Diana Award and Dubai Cares’ Distinguished Philanthropic Award. She’s also a recipient of the National Young Filmmakers Scholarship and has raised large funds for breast cancer research and children’s mental health initiatives.

During the selection process, which included group challenges and interviews with KHDA and PwC, Inaya impressed the panel with her thoughtful ideas. She spoke about using leadership as a tool for social change and proposed initiatives like integrating AI into school curricula, creating teacher-student support groups, and launching a KHDA student newsletter to connect students with volunteering opportunities, mental health resources, and university guidance.

Reflecting on the shortlisting experience, Inaya said, “It was a really insightful experience – sharing ideas with students from all over Dubai. It didn’t really feel like a competition, more like a community. I’m excited to work with KHDA and other student leaders to turn these ideas into meaningful action.”

This appointment is not just a personal milestone for Inaya – it’s a proud moment for Bloom World Academy, highlighting our commitment to nurturing students who are ready to lead, inspire, and make a difference in the world. We can’t wait to see the impact Inaya will make as part of the Dubai Students Council.
