Iker Fraile Villanueva is an experienced Spanish educator with a strong background in science education and international teaching. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences and a Master’s degree in Education with a specialisation in Chemistry. Since beginning his teaching career in 2015, Iker has worked across a range of international contexts, developing a broad and adaptable teaching practice.
He started his career in Madrid before moving to Kazan, Russia, where he gained valuable experience teaching multiple subjects, including Science, Mathematics, and Design. This early international experience strengthened his flexibility in the classroom and his ability to respond to diverse student needs. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Iker joined an international school in Paris, where he specialised in IB Diploma Programme Biology. Over four years, he further developed his expertise in inquiry-based learning and international curricula.
After a brief return to Russia, Iker relocated to the United Arab Emirates in January 2026, continuing his commitment to international education. He strongly believes in fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and kindness in the classroom, guided by the idea that “Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”
Outside of school, Iker enjoys playing chess, hiking, and engaging in a wide range of water sports. He is passionate about exploring different cultures and learning from the global communities in which he lives and works.
