Stephanie Lennon is a highly experienced teacher from Ireland with over 16 years experience across Primary and Secondary age groups specialising in Art and Drama. At 16, she studied at RADA (The Royal Academy for Dramatic Art) specialising in Set Design and Scenic Techniques before graduating with a Bachelors of Arts honours degree in Theatre Practice from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and a Master of Arts in Illustration from Falmouth University.

Having taught both the English National Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate, this is Stephanie’s second period living in the UAE. She first moved here in 2007 and spent a very happy eight years teaching in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi where she was first introduced to the International Baccalaureate and was immediately drawn to its holistic appreciation of the Arts that was embedded within the learning model and the cross curricular collaboration across disciplines.

Stephanie believes in respect, tolerance, and lifelong learning. In giving students agency over their education and in truly allowing them the space to think and act independently. In doing so, they will develop an understanding of how each choice and the resulting consequence, have an impact on their progression. Fundamental to creating a rich learning environment is a teacher’s appreciation of a student as an individual with their own interests and understanding and that we all approach learning experiences with different perspectives, emotions, and abilities. For Stephanie, the key as a teacher is in harnessing that collective energy to learn from and with one another.

Her Masters degree studies led her to focus her research on how we define creativity and creative practice in the twenty-first century with the continuous growth of technology. Away from the classroom, Stephanie is a practising Illustrator and has a passion for dance and music.
