Yara Semaan is a special needs educator with 10 years of teaching experience across the Primary and Elementary ages in Lebanon and UAE.

Yara graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education Needs from University of Notre Dame in Lebanon. She is fluent in Arabic (native tongue), English and French.

Between 2013 and 2024, Yara taught the American Curriculum, Lebanese Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate in several schools in Lebanon and UAE. Moreover, in 2017, she worked with a UN agency as a Special Needs Education specialist. She was responsible for managing the inclusion and SEN departments across 24 schools.

Teaching has been a passion of hers since she was a student herself. She ensures that students gain skills they need to work independently inside the classroom and in their daily lives and become life long learners.

Providing early intervention is essential when teaching kids with special needs. Yara firmly believes that great educators learn and grow with their students. As such, she is thankful for the opportunity to help young minds develop and flourish.

In 2022, she moved to Dubai with her husband and her two year old son. She and her family enjoy outdoors activities such as hiking and camping as well as sports, including tennis.

Yara is always keen on honing and developing her skills to ensure she can provide the best for her students. Her goal is to continue supporting and providing students with adequate resources to enhance their ability in taking a more active role in building their own future.
